Poetry: "Please Take Some Deep-breaths"

Please Take Some Deep-breaths

I sit, aging
Brain wars waging

“You look good for your age”
I don’t hear it anymore
Eyes brim to the dim
Subtle glances toward the door
The panic
Creates static
Pulsing lines
Throbbing veins
I breathe, heavily
Pain will be the death of me

“You can break free from the cage”
I don’t fear it anymore
Lips shake from the break
Swiftly moving, I soar
Fly higher and higher
Until I am no more
