Poetry – "Brink"

Brink
by Jennifer Patino

I am a cyclone
of too many
moods & voices
that deciding
on just one topic,
just one emotion,

   Expression,
   or outburst,

feels like I’m leaving
too much of myself
in the shadows,
behind.

So, I stay silent
& stewing
because when I
reach my brink
& boil over
the scalding
impressions of
all of the me’s
are bare & beautiful
& boldly truthful.
